Solidarity Day

Big bazaar

As every year, Lycée Aline Mayrisch organises its big Solidarity Day with no less than 3,000 students, teachers, parents and friends of the school celebrating their involvement for the preferential project, a project elected by the whole school community. Classes ranging from 7e to 2e take part in the organisation of this major event to make it a truly memorable event.

The entry hall as well as chosen classrooms host stands selling handmade products, culinary treats and much more. Every year hundreds of visitors flock to the auditorium for lunch. Besides traditional Luxembourgish dishes such as Kniddelen and grilled sausages, our guests may try specialties and desserts from the beneficiary country. In the afternoon, rock bands and groups of dancers from LAML will perform with various visiting musicians and make our school move to new rhythms!They will be chosen according to the project.

Next year’s Solidarity Day is scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2022. This year, LAML will start its cooperation with the NGOD Guiden a Scouten fir eng Welt, which is financing the construction of a training centre in Casamance, Senegal. This centre will offer young people in the region the opportunity to train in the field of sustainable development.
