On the evening of April 28th 2015, Lycée Aline Mayrisch’s “Théaline” theatre company presented its new show “La vie, la vraie, an nëmmen dat Bescht” to a full house at Luxembourg’s Grand Theatre Studio.

Inspired by the latest book by Annie Ernaux “Regarde les lumières mon amour”, the 30 students from 7e to 2e, and their teachers, Claire Flammang and Daniel Weyler, examined the topic of the supermarket in spectacular fashion.

Scrutinising the life of a large supermarket in an afternoon, choreographing a ballet of shopping carts, inventing dialogues of self-checkout machines and adapting literary excerpts, students presented a spectacle full of colour and vision, directed by Claire Flammang. Between illusions of the fabulous 50’s , amused and critical comments of the ruthless world of big supermarkets and worrying visions about the possible evolution of the bar code, the public was able to get an idea of the wealth of this world that seems so trivial at first glance.
